I am 25 years old and I converted to the Catholic Church 4 years ago after watching EWTN. Before watching EWTN I didn’t know the meaning of the word chastity. Learning about chastity really helped me have greater respect for myself as a woman. Anyone can practice chastity, at any age, married or single. It’s never to late to be chaste and it doesn’t matter what happened in the past. I practice chastity and I plan on giving my virginity to my husband if I ever marry.

My parents have been faithfully married for 34 years. My grandparents have been faithfully married for 55+ years. I was at my great grandparents 65th wedding anniversary party (now they have both died). All my relatives would agree that waiting for the right spouse is worth it!

I think it is VERY cool that you want to do that. My brother is 25 and still waiting. I didn’t, but wish I HAD!! (I’m 26 and lost my virginity at 15. I think that was waaaay too young. Even though I told the guy no, I didn’t stand up strong enough for my beliefs. Kudos to you for doing that.) I am dating this great guy now and I plan on waiting until he marries me to have sex. I want it to be sacred and special–not just some casual thing. It is a very personal and intimate thing, and a gift from God, and I want it to be treated that way from now on. I also know that if I do this, it will be worth it and more amazing than ever before because it is what I was supposed to do, not what I ‘felt’ like doing. It is the person God made me to be. Someone who cherishes His gifts–not someone who uses them carelessly. I hope you continue the way you are going, and I believe I can say that because I’ve been on both sides of the fence. You’re not missing out on anything–keep waiting. You go girl!!!!

As a guy, I’m glad to hear this. We don’t need another teenage pregnancy or more loveless sex. The wait will have such a great payoff. In society as a whole, it is regarded by the popular people as uncool. However, the silent majority will applaud your good values. Good luck.

agree with matt…your first time of sex is either going to be amazing… spiritually…..now pshyically not so much–it will hurt, u prolly wont know what to do in some sitiations so idk take some sex ed class or sumthin
