Why does the Constitution even ALLOW the majority to introduce laws discriminating against minorities? If states are allowed to discriminate against gay couples are they also allowed to pass laws banning Mormons from voting? Maybe someone should put that to the test just to see how far it gets.

Living in N.E., I have my fingers crossed for Maine. I think that many residents in that state support a live and let live attitude. I hope that that prevails.

I live in Ca. and am really disappointed in the outcome of the vote here. I think the religious groups put up quite a campaign and won the day, sad to say.

There’s a Prop 8 going on in Maine? Jesus Christ that’s bad. I’d like to be reassured by Maine being a liberal state but damn, California was liberal too for God’s sake.
